SHANGHAI, Jan. 29 (SMM) -- In China’s manganese ore market, suppliers were still reluctant to move goods.

With regard to macroeconomic environment, cash flow is relatively ample and fixed-assets investment in 2013 will increase. It is widely expect that fixed assets investment by local governments will grow by at least 20%.

With regard to steel market, inventories continued to grow, iron ore prices fell and crude steel output slightly increase, suggesting that China’s steel market already hit bottom.

Based on SMM survey result, manganese ore in Tainjin port and south ports were ordered by long-term contract, so new transactions were limited. Traders expect that manganese ore market may improve in February and March.

Transactions were still in small volume and manganese ore prices are poised to rise.
