Tin Prices Fall Most Sharply, Prices of Zinc, Copper and Lead Up

SHANGHAI, Jan. 28 (SMM) – Base metal prices were mixed last week. Prices of #0 zinc ingot, #1 copper and #1 lead ingot averaged RMB 15,270/mt, RMB 58,120/mt and RMB 14,775/mt, respectively, up 0.9%, 0.8% and 0.5%.

Tin ingot prices averaged RMB 159,000/mt last week, down 1.4% on a weekly basis, the sharpest decline among base metals. Tin ingot prices tumbled along with LME tin prices, down RMB 500/mt on daily basis, with thin trading volumes.

Prices of #1 nickel and A00 aluminum ingot averaged RMB 123,350/mt and RMB 14,920/mt, down 0.2% and 0.3%, respectively.

Rare earth prices were virtually unchanged. The average prices of europium oxide and dysprosium oxide were RMB 5,900/kg and RMB 2,075/kg, respectively, down 2.5% and 3.5%.
