SHANGHAI, Jan. 22 (SMM) – As both buyers and sellers in silicon metal market generally completed the pre-holiday procurement with the approach of Chinese New Year holiday, silicon metal transactions have remained light recently, limiting upward room for silicon metal prices.

The bullish mood and continuous rises in silicon metal prices inspired many silicon metal producers in Fujian, Chongqing, Guizhou, and Hunan, which mainly produce #553 and #441 silicon metal, to resume production. The increased supply also prevented silicon metal prices from rising further.
