SMM Weekly Review on Brass Imports (Dec. 17-21)

Brass prices held virtually stable, and brass importers have recently stepped up purchase volumes owing to optimism over future copper prices.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 25 (SMM) –Turning to the brass market, CIF quotations for US brass, Western remained between USD 5,050-5,100/mt last week. CIF quotations for Bulgarian brass were unchanged at around USD 4,760/mt, and roughly USD 4,630/mt for German and Spanish brass. Mainstream offers for US brass, Western retreated to RMB 38,100-38,500/mt on China’s domestic markets. Brass prices held virtually stable, and brass importers have recently stepped up purchase volumes owing to optimism over future copper prices.
