Dollar Trades in Upper 84 Yen Range in Early Tokyo Deals

TOKYO, Dec. 25  -- The U.S. dollar traded in the upper 84 yen range early Tuesday morning in Tokyo.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 84.78-86 yen compared with 84.89-99 yen in New York at 5 p.m. Monday. Financial markets in Japan were closed Monday for a national holiday.

The euro fetched 1.3180-3186 dollar and 111.78-86 yen against 1. 3181-3191 dollar and 111.89-99 yen in New York.
