SHFE Zinc Price Movement (2012-12-3)

SHANGHAI, Dec. 30 (SMM) – SHFE three-month zinc contract prices remained fluctuating at high levels. Discounts of #0 zinc against SHFE three-month zinc contract prices were RMB 330-350/mt, with traded prices between RMB 15,100-15,160/mt. #1 zinc prices were concentrated at RMB 15,090/mt. Smelters moved goods modestly due to climbing zinc prices, but availability of some brands was still tight. Some traders purchased goods actively as spot discounts once expanded to RMB 350/mt, but downstream buyers still purchased as needed, keeping overall transactions muted.
