SHANGHAI, Nov. 29 (SMM) -- In China’s manganese ore market, inquiries were largely for lump and granule from Australia and Brazil. Prices for other specification manganese ore was stable, but trading volumes were limited. Based on result of SMM survey, prices for manganese ore from Burma (Mn 30-32%) were sluggish in Yunnan market. As Yunnan market is relatively closed due to its geographical features, it is expected that the sluggish performance of manganese ore prices in Yunnnan province will remain in the short term.

In north port, offers for manganese ore from South Africa and Australia were high. According to SMM sources, around 40,000 mt manganese fines from Brazil will be shipped to China, most of which was ordered by alloy producers. In south China, prices for manganese ore in supply shortage were still advancing, but some alloy producers were considering to find other substitutes.
