SHANGHAI, Oct. 11 (SMM) – Restocking of raw materials was up at 70% of the surveyed aluminum plate, sheet, strip and foil producers in September, flat at 20% producers, and down at 10% producers, according to SMM’s latest survey.

     
Although the surveyed producers, which used to operate normally during the holidays, actually took a 3-5 day break during this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, they still needed to rebuild stocks for the holidays. In addition, these producers maintained stocks sufficient for 9 days of production compared with 7 days in August since more types of raw materials like aluminum ingot and semi-finished goods are needed to produce aluminum plate, sheet, strip and foil compared with aluminum extrusion
