Central Asia Metals Kounrad Plant Has Sold 1,728 Tons Cathode Copper

Central Asia Metals PLC (CAML.LN) said Monday that its Kounrad plant in Kazakhstan, which started production on April 29, had by June 30 produced 1,728 tons of cathode copper.

Jul 02, 2012 (Dow Jones) LONDON--Central Asia Metals PLC (CAML.LN) said Monday that its Kounrad plant in Kazakhstan, which started production on April 29, had by June 30 produced 1,728 tons of cathode copper of which 1,386 tons had been sold and delivered to Traxys Europe.

Main Facts:
-To date physical production of copper cathodes has exceeded management's expectations for this early stage of production as the plant is still under commissioning.

-The plant is operating in accordance with the design capacity specifications and the assessed quality of the cathode copper has consistently met LME grade A quality standards.

-Shares closed Friday at 69 pence valuing the company at GBP59 million.
