SHANGHAI, Jun. 8th (SMM) -- Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Company announced recently that its Danxia Smelter has restarted following production suspension due to a lead poisoning incident in early March. Maintenance was done during the shutdown, which has now upgraded existing equipment. Operations at the Fankou lead and zinc mine in the same area was also suspended for maintenance on March 4th, but restarted production in late March.

SMM sources report the Danxia Smelter has an annual capacity of 100,000 mt, accounting for over 30% of total zinc smelting capacity in Zhongjin Lingnan. The smelter completed maintenance in late May, so no output was reported for the month. Now that the Danxia Smelter has reached full capacity, SMM predicts concentrate supply in Guangdong province will now begin to grow.
