The yuan weakened against the U.S. dollar on Monday, the first trading day after the People's Bank of China, the country's central bank, announced Saturday a lift in the yuan's daily trading limit to 1 percent from 0.5 percent.
The central parity rate of the yuan against the U.S. dollar is based on a weighted average of prices before the opening of the market each business day.
