BEIJING, Apr 09, 2012 (Dow Jones) -- China's coal exports fell to 970,000 metric tons in March, down 62.5% from a year earlier, according to preliminary data issued Tuesday by the General Administration of Customs.

Customs didn't specify March import volumes for coal.

From January to March, China's coal exports fell to 3.2 million tons, down 44.6% from a year earlier, the data showed.
