On Thursday, the most active SHFE aluminum contract price fell after opening higher with transactions reducing sharply.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 8 (SMM) – On Thursday, the most active SHFE aluminum contract price fell after opening higher with transactions reducing sharply, limiting increases in spot prices. In South China, spot prices rose above RMB 15,900/mt, but downstream consumption remained depressed. Main transactions were done at RMB 15,900-15,920/mt. Both sellers and buyers were holding a wait-and-see attitude, leaving limited deals done.
