Rio Tinto CEO Says Copper Production to Recover in Second Half

Rio Tinto Group expects a recovery in copper production to start in the second half of 2012, Chief Executive Officer Tom Albanese said.

Feb. 28 (Bloomberg) –Rio Tinto Group expects a recovery in copper production to start in the second half of 2012, Chief Executive Officer Tom Albanese said in a presentation to BMO Capital Markets' Metals & Mining Conference in Hollywood, Florida.

The company's energy division is expected to recover from the "significant weather events" of 2011, Albanese said in the presentation, posted on Rio's website today.
