South China Aluminum: Consumption Remains Sluggish, Futures Prices Fall

On Friday, the most active SHFE aluminum contract prices continued to fall after opening at RMB 16,220/mt.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 24 (SMM) – On Friday, the most active SHFE aluminum contract prices continued to fall after opening at RMB 16,220/mt and closed at a low of RMB 16,160/mt. Spot price in Nanhai were at RMB 15,860-15,880/mt, with traders mainly selling goods at RMB 15,860/mt. Demand remained sluggish due to scarce orders, and some traders said transactions hit a low point. Meanwhile, with more goods arriving, inventories surged to nearly 240,000 mt.
