January Operating Rates at Aluminum Extrusion Producers Down 27.19% MoM

SHANGHAI, Feb. 13 (SMM) -- According to a recent SMM survey, operating rates at 29 aluminum extrusion producers were 40.88% during January, down 27.19% MoM, due mainly to production suspension at most enterprises during the Chinese New Year holiday.

Operating rates at large producers with capacities greater than 50,000 mt/yr were 46.53%, down 25.25% MoM; operating rates at medium producers were 27.92%, down 31.81% MoM; and operating rates at small producers with capacities below 10,000 mt/yr were 46.44%, down 16.36% MoM.

Most aluminum extrusion producers have begun to resume operations at a slower pace in early February. SMM predicts operating rates at aluminum extrusion producers will be 60% during February.
