At present, some large secondary aluminum enterprises also plan to build plants in Zhengzhou in an effort to supply liquid aluminum directly to Nissan.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 3 (SMM) -- The ground-breaking ceremony for Nissan’s new engine plant in Zhengzhou was held in the Zhengzhou Economic & Technological Development Zone last week. The plant will have the production capacity of 600,000 units of engine and 450,000 units of finished vehicle upon the completion, which will greatly boost demand for cast aluminum alloy in Central China.

Nissan’s domestic engine production is mainly concentrated in Huadu, Guangdong Province. The Zhengzhou plant expansion is a solid step taken by Nissan toward its goal of achieving sales of over 1.3 million units in 2015 and becoming one of top three industry market share occupiers, and is also an important initiative to increase its layout in Central China.

According to SMM estimation, cast aluminum alloy demand from the new Zhengzhou engine plant upon coming online will exceed 4,000 mt. At present, some large secondary aluminum enterprises also plan to build plants in Zhengzhou in an effort to supply liquid aluminum directly to Nissan.
