SHANGHAI, Jul. 28 (SMM)--According to data from China Customs, domestic zinc concentrate imports in June were 184.4 kt, down 21.92%. Accumulated imports from January through June were 1.38 kt, down 8.5% YoY.
Although zinc concentrate imports from Australia and Kazakhstan grew significantly, the total imports in June fell sharply on the monthly basis since imports from some countries fell to a large extent. Zinc concentrate imports from Peru were 47,454 mt in May, while the imports in June were 14,583 mt, down 69.27% MoM.
Zinc concentrate imports from Macedonia were 46,314 mt in May, but with none recorded in June.
Zinc concentrate imports from South Asia and Southeast Asia also fell significantly, with the largest decrease from India. Zinc concentrate imports from India were 27,264 mt in May, while imports from India in June were only 1,858 mt , down 93.19%. Imports from Burma in May were 5,563 mt, while imports were down 61.5% to 2,142 mt in June.
