SHANGHAI Sep. 7 (CBI China)--Fengfan Company recently paid RMB 68 million for mineral exploration rights in Hebei Province.  The mineral reserves were estimated at 870kt of lead and zinc, 102mt of gold, and 1,550mt of silver. Fengfan Company focuses on production of sealed lead acid batteries and lead is its key raw material.

    CBI believes the current lead shortage is a bottleneck for battery manufacturers, and Fengfan's effort to vertically integrate its supply chain can help guarantee raw material supplies and reduce production costs.
