Zambia Jan Copper Output up y/y to 92,958 T

Mar.2 (Reuters) - Copper output in Zambia, Africa's leading producer of the metal, increased to 92,958 tonnes in January from the 58,263 tonnes mined in the same month last year, the central bank said on Wednesday.

The central bank said in a fortnightly statistics report that copper exports in January rose to 78,912 tonnes from 56,768 tonnes in January last year.

Zambia's cobalt output dropped to 728 tonnes in January from 800 tonnes last year, while exports fell to 734 tonnes from 741 tonnes.
