Guiyang Yinxing Company’s 100 kt/yr Rich Oxygen Lead Smelting Project Completed

SHANGHAI, Feb. 28 (SMM) -- On February 21st, the Guiyang Yinxing Nonferrous Metal Smelting Company, located in Chenzhou City, Hunan province, completed construction on its 100 kt/yr rich oxygen lead smelting project. The project required a total investment of RMB 1,028.31 million, and once the program comes fully online, the company expects a sales turnover of RMB 3 billion per year,  profits and taxes of RMB 340 million, and the creation of 2,000 jobs.

According to SMM sources, the company’s refined lead capacity in 2010 was 30 kt, with actual output of 25 kt. The company produces refined lead using outsourced crude lead, and the 100 kt/yr rich oxygen lead smelting project will be the first among other new capacity expansions during 2011.

The project was approved by the Hunan Economic Committee in October 2006 and obtained confirmation by the Environment Resource Protection Bureau in October 2007. In 2009, the company formally began using oxygen bottom blow smelting (blast reduction smelting), which is considered the most advanced technology available. After the program becomes fully operational, the company will have a capacity of 100 kt/yr of refined lead, 100 kt/yr of sulfuric acid, and 15 kt/yr of refined zinc, and will be able to recycle gold, silver, copper, bismuth, antimony, indium, and tellurium. The company should be able to achieve annual production valued at over RMB 3 billion, making the company among largest in Chenzhou City, Hunan province.
