Dec. 22 -- Preliminary data released by the trade ministry indicated that tin shipments from Indonesia in November were close to 9,000 tonnes, following a fairly high level the previous month. The tonnage of tin checked prior to export by surveying companies last month was 8,986 tonnes, up 10% on the same month of 2009. This was the highest monthly total since March 2009.

Cumulative tonnage in the first eleven months of this year according to ITRI’s records is 84,765 tonnes, down by 6.6% year-on-year compared to the same period of 2009. After strong sales in October/November, trade sources tell us that shipments have declined in December and are expected to remain low during the monsoon season in the first quarter of 2011.
