Jinshan Indium and Germanium Company to Commission 100 kt/yr Zinc Project in 2011

SHANGHAI, Nov. 25 (SMM) -- According to sources from Guangxi Jinshan Indium and Germanium Company, this company will put its 100 kt/yr zinc expansion project into operations in 1Q 2011.

Guangxi Jinshan Indium and Germanium Company mainly produces #0 zinc, with annual capacity of 60 kt/yr. The 100 kt/yr zinc expansion project is under construction currently. Sources report that approximately 50% of zinc concentrate will be provided by the company, while the remaining raw materials should be outsourced, after the new project becomes operational. Whether or not they choose to purchase imported zinc concentrate will depend on the SHFE/LME zinc price ratio in 2011. The new project will mainly produce #0 zinc, with goods mainly supplying to south China.

Guangxi Jinshan Indium and Germanium Company is a private-owned company specializing in nonferrous metals, mines, smelting, and chemical, and is located in Hechi Nonferrous Metal New Material Industrial Park, Chehe town, Nandan county, Guangxi province. The company has an annual zinc capacity of 60 kt, and its capacity will increase to 160 kt/yr after the new project comes online in 2011.
