BEIJING, Oct. 20 -- China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd<600050><0762><CHU>, the country's No. 2 mobile carrier, saw the number of its 3G subscribers increase by 1.04 million in September this year to 10.55 million, according to the firm's performance data for September released yesterday.
The net addition of 3G users last month was more than the 1.01 million added in August.
The number of 2G users increased by 801,000 in September to 152 million. The net addition of 2G users last month was more than the 682,000 added in August.
The number of broadband users increased by 618,000 last month to a total of 45.98 million.
However, the company's number of local phone users dropped 410,000 last month to 99.7 million.
