First Chile Mine Rescuer Gonzalez Descends Shaft to Reach 33 Trapped Men

Oct 13 (Bloomberg) -- Chile mine rescue worker Manuel Gonzalez entered a capsule that will be lowered underground to reach the 33 miners trapped in the San Jose copper mine, television images showed.

"Bring us back the miners” President Sebastian Pinera told Gonzalez live on state television channel TVN as he entered the capsule.
