China May Refined Copper Imports 279,690 Tons, Down 17% On Year

SHANGHAI, Jun 21, 2010 (Dow Jones Commodities News Select via Comtex) -- China's refined copper imports in May declined 17% from a year earlier to 279,690 metric tons, the General Administration of Customs said Monday.

May imports were down 9.7% from April, when 309,772 tons were imported.

In the January-May period, the world's largest copper consumer imported 1.34 million tons of refined copper, down 4.3% from a year earlier.
