A driver died when his front-end loader plunged 20 meters (66 feet) down a vertical decline while working underground on 3 am April 11th, which caused BHP Billiton to halt production temporarily. Leinster nickel ore produced about 36 kt of refined nickel annual, and dressed around 3 million mt of nickel ore annually.
