Industry News 02:25:47PM Apr 07, 2010 Source:SMM

SHANGHAI, Apr. 7 -- The specific tasks of elimination of backward production capacity on nickel relating industries are as follows:

Coke industry

Small coke-ovens whose carbonization room height below 4.3 m, excluding stamp-charging coke oven with height exceeding 3.2 m, should be eliminated before the end of 2010.

Ferroalloy industry

Electric arc furnaces below 6,300 kilovolts should be shuttered before the end of 2010.

Iron and steel industry

Blast furnaces less than 400 cubic meters in size, converter and electric furnaces with production capacity less than 30 mt should be shut down before the end of 2011.

Construction material industry

The following production lines and capacity should be eliminated before the end of 2012:

machine cement kiln production lines with diameter less than 3.0m,

cement dry hollow kiln production lines with diameter less than 2.5m (excluding those lines used for producing high-alumina cement),

cement hydro kiln production lines (excluding those used for disposal of sludge and carbide slag etc),

cement mills with diameter less than 3.0 m (excluding those used for producing special cement),

cement kiln that usually form big lumps, ordinary shaft Kiln and other backward cement production capacity;
