SHANGHAI, Mar. 16 -- According to latest data from Chile's central bank announced on March 15th, Chile's copper export value reached as high as USD 2.7413 billion in February, soaring 91.9% from a year earlier.
According to official data, China's copper exports valued USD 6.1138 billion during the first two months of 2010, supported by global economic recovery and strong copper prices, surging 106% on a yearly basis. Chile's copper output is expected to reach up to 5.7 million mt for the whole year of 2010, up 7.3 from 2009 levels, with export value estimated at USD 36.5 billion.
China's copper export value was at 29.906 billion in 2009 due to the global financial crisis, down 18% from 2008 levels.
