DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsCar InsightMOSCOW, Feb. 22 -- Ukraine exported 66,315 metric tons of primary aluminum in 2009, down 45.5% on the year, the state statistics committee said Wednesday.
The exported aluminum was worth $106.31 million, 66.8% less than in 2008.
Out of the exported primary aluminum in 2009, 29,671 tons went to Turkey, 8,506 tons to Japan, 9,408 tons to the U.K., 5,063 tons to Slovakia, and smaller amounts to other countries. Primary aluminum exports to Russia in 2009 totaled just 622 tons.
Primary aluminum in Ukraine is produced by the Zaporozhsky aluminum smelter, controlled by United Co. Rusal Ltd.
