[Pb] China's Exports of Lead Plate in September Set a New High for 2009

SHANGHAI, Oct. 28 (SMM) -- China's exports of refined lead were 2,602 mt during September, setting a new high for 2009. The YTD exports were 16kt, down 49% YoY. China's refined lead was mainly exported to Thailand, Taiwan and South Korea. China's exports of lead plate were 2,963 mt during September, up 87% MoM, while China's average monthly exports of lead plate were about 4,800 mt during 2008. Lead plate enjoys zero export tariff, but lead plate is still unable to help domestic enterprises increase exports efficiently amid current situation of strong LME lead prices and weak domestic lead prices due to weak sales of lead plate.
