SHANGHAI, Aug. 12 (SMM) -- North China, today 1# bright copper was traded at RMB 43,100-43,400/mt, the downstream copper rod producers demanded much lower prices, and prices for bright scrap copper reported marked declines. Traders became reluctant to sell, and trading sentiment was weak.

    East China, today 1# bright copper was traded at RMB 43,500-43,800/mt, traders stood on the sidelines, while downstream consumers purchased based on production needs, so transactions were slim.

    South China, today 1# bright copper was traded at RMB 44,100-44,300/mt, buyers showed a cautious attitude, while traders were reluctant to sell on optimistic price outlook, so the market remained neutral.
