[POSCO Steeleon Becomes First Korean Color-Coated Steel Maker Approved for GE’s Appliance Supply Chain]
POSCO subsidiary POSCO Steeleon has obtained quality approval from US appliance maker General Electric (GE) for its stainless steel anti-fingerprint color-coated sheets for home appliances. It is the first South Korean color-coated steel producer to enter GE’s official supply chain, after about two years of cooperation among POSCO Group companies. POSCO developed the base steel to meet specifications for premium large appliances in North America, while POSCO International handled customer management, local warehousing and logistics in the US to support just-in-time deliveries. The sheets have passed GE’s durability testing and mass production validation and are expected to be used on the front panels of premium appliances, including refrigerators. The company did not disclose the supply volume, contract value, duration or start date of commercial deliveries.
