[리튬 배터리: LG와 NVIDIA, 전략적 협력 체결]

8월 14일 LG그룹과 엔비디아는 미국 캘리포니아에서 로보틱스·AI 팩토리·모빌리티 3대 산업을 아우르는 전략적 협력 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다. 양측은 인공지능 시대의 산업 표준을 공동으로 추진한다. 로보틱스 분야에서 LG그룹은 2027년 1분기에 엔비디아 Isaac GR00T 기반의 이족보행 휴머노이드 로봇을 출시할 계획이며, LG에너지솔루션 배터리로 구동된다. AI 팩토리 분야에서는 엔비디아 DSX 아키텍처를 기반으로 2027년 상반기에 AI 팩토리 레퍼런스 사이트를 구축하고, 2028년 상반기에는 충남 천안에 80MW 규모의 AI 컴퓨팅 시설을 완공할 계획이다. 이 프로젝트는 LG전자 냉각 솔루션과 LG에너지솔루션 배터리 솔루션을 결합해 피지컬 AI 및 휴머노이드 로봇 파운데이션 모델의 반복 학습을 위한 컴퓨팅 인프라를 제공한다. 모빌리티 분야에서는 양측이 엔비디아 DRIVE Hyperion 플랫폼을 활용해 AI 차량 컴퓨팅 플랫폼을 개발하고, LG에너지솔루션 배터리 솔루션을 접목한다.

LS Posts KRW 1.7 Trillion Operating Profit in H1, Surpassing Last Year’s Full-Year Figure

LS Corp. announced on August 14 that its second-quarter revenue reached KRW 11.0236 trillion, with operating profit of KRW 595.6 billion. The figures increased 40% and 153%, respectively, from the same period last year. Among its subsidiaries, LS MnM recorded revenue of KRW 10.2362 trillion and operating profit of KRW 365.3 billion in the first half. Compared with the first half of last year, revenue rose 58%, while operating profit surged 427%. The company attributed the increase in operating profit to higher copper cathode premiums and rising prices for precious metals and sulfuric acid products.
