Keeps BioPharma announced on June 24 that its subsidiary Battery Solutions signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with South Korean battery recycling company CIS Chemical to cooperate on the LFP waste battery recycling business. Under the agreement, Battery Solutions will handle pretreatment processes, including waste battery collection, discharging, dismantling and shredding. CIS Chemical will then be responsible for post-treatment processes to recover key valuable metals, such as lithium and iron phosphate, from black mass.

Battery company PNT has invested KRW 150 billion to build a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode and battery cell production plant at Gumi High-Tech Valley, also known as the National Industrial Complex 5, in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province.
