Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations (INO) mine rescue team won the overall champion title at Ontario Mine Rescue 2026 competition, which ended 12 June in Sudbury, beating seven other provincial teams. The mock-emergency scenario, staged at Magna Mining Podolsky Mine—a historical property under care and maintenance—simulated teenagers trespassing into an abandoned site, testing teams on oxygen-deficient air, opioid-overdose response with Narcan, rope rescue and a vehicle fire using a Compressed Air Foam System. This is a workplace-safety and community item with no nickel market or pricing relevance.

PT Central Omega Resources (DKFT), an Indonesian nickel miner, told the IDX it will submit an RKAB revision in July to secure additional nickel ore quota, after its initial 2026 allocation was cut by about 35%. The company still targets 9.5% net profit growth to IDR 629 billion for 2026, and has trimmed its ore sales target to 1.9 million mt from 3.02 million mt realized in 2025, while optimizing output toward 4 million mt. In Q1 2026, ore output fell about 44% YoY and sales about 19%, yet revenue rose around 20% to IDR 506 billion and net profit jumped 72.9% to IDR 238 billion—price and margin gains offsetting RKAB-driven volume cuts. The July RKAB outcome is the swing factor for the full-year target.

Fathom Nickel(CSE:FNI)은 캐나다 서스캐처원주 Gochager Lake 프로젝트에서 2단계 시추 작업 결과, 반려암에 함유된 니켈-구리-코발트 광화대 2곳을 확인했다고 밝혔다. 이 광화대는 기존 광체로부터 북동쪽으로 약 100미터, 남서쪽으로 약 150미터 떨어져 있다. 이번 시추공 전자기(BHEM) 탐사로 확인된 구간에서는 반괴상 내지 산점상 황화물에서 육안으로 확인 가능한 펜틀랜다이트와 황동석이 관찰되었으며, 이는 기존 광체 유형과 일치한다. 총 3,000미터 계획의 약 2/3가 완료된 가운데, 시추는 6월 30일까지 마무리되고 분석 결과는 8월 초 발표될 예정이다. 아직 등급은 공개되지 않아 이번 결과는 자원량 업데이트보다는 광화대 범위 확장에 의미가 있으며, 8월 분석 결과가 이 북미 마그마성 황화물 탐사 기업의 다음 촉매제가 될 전망이다.
