[SMM 속보: ReElement와 POSCO, 미국 희토류 협력 계획] ReElement Technologies와 POSCO International이 미국 내 통합 희토류·영구자석 생산 단지 구축 계획을 담은 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다. 이 시설은 정제, 제조, 재활용을 결합해 업계 최초의 완전 통합 생산 시설이 될 전망이다. 모회사인 American Resources Corp.가 파쇄 전자제품에서 희토류를 회수하는 설비를 갖춘 지 며칠 만에 나온 이번 합의는, 앞서 ReElement가 POSCO의 글로벌 자석 사업을 위한 정제 산화물 공급사로 자리매김한 파트너십의 연장선상에 있다. 이를 통해 미국에서 원자재부터 완성 자석에 이르는 전체 공급망 통합의 기틀이 마련되고 있다.
