Most Vietnamese buyers delayed procurement while awaiting new monthly offers from a major domestic producer, keeping near-term trading activity subdued.

[India] The latest market update reported that HMS 80:20 ship-breaking melting scrap in Alang fell by 3 USD/tonne to 342 USD/tonne ex-yard. Weak downstream steel demand and continued pressure on finished steel prices reduced buying interest, with purchasers limiting procurement to immediate needs. Although monsoon disruptions have constrained ship-breaking activity and tightened processed scrap supply, the shortage has not been sufficient to reverse bearish sentiment, likely limiting near-term price gains.

[Steel Mill Maintenance] Hebei Chengde Steel will carry out maintenance on a 2500 m³ blast furnace on August 20, with an estimated maintenance duration of 30 days, affecting hot metal production of 6,000 mt/day.
