[Aluminum prices fluctuated downward after the holiday, with secondary aluminum prices generally declining] Today, SHFE aluminum prices fluctuated downward after the market opened. SMM A00 aluminum prices fell by 210 yuan/mt from the previous trading day to 19,850 yuan/mt. Domestic SMM ADC12 prices decreased by 100 yuan/mt to the range of 20,300-20,500 yuan/mt. In the import market, overseas ADC12 quotes slightly decreased to $2,420-2,440/mt, and the immediate loss of imported ADC12 narrowed to within 600 yuan/mt. On the first trading day after the holiday, the secondary aluminum market continued its sluggish trend, with weak downstream purchase intentions and a strong wait-and-see sentiment in the market. Most enterprises lowered their quotes by 100 yuan/mt in line with the market, but some producers temporarily maintained their quotes due to cost support. Given the continued weakness in demand, it is expected that ADC12 prices will remain in the doldrums in the short term.
