According to SMM statistics, as of April 28, the domestic aluminum billet inventory at major consumption hubs stood at 162,600 mt, a decrease of 15,200 mt from the previous Thursday. The release of rigid demand for stockpiling ahead of the Labour Day holiday, coupled with downstream enterprises restocking at lower prices, drove the accelerated depletion of inventory, successfully breaking through the critical level of 200,000 mt and exerting downward pressure on inventory towards the 150,000 mt mark. In addition to the rigid demand for stockpiling ahead of the holiday, the recent increase in aluminum billet processing fees due to relatively low inventory levels at manufacturers, along with downstream enterprises' preference for warehouse-sourced goods due to cost advantages, facilitated the accelerated reduction of aluminum billet inventory.
