Boviet Solar, a Vietnamese solar company, announced the official commencement of operations at its first PV module factory in Greenville, North Carolina, US. The factory, with a total investment of $294 million, utilizes N-type solar cell technology to produce high-performance Gamma Series™ single-sided PV modules and Vega Series™ bifacial PV modules.
The factory is constructed in two phases. The first phase currently has an annual capacity of 2GW, while the second phase plans to build a solar cell factory of approximately 600,000 square feet, expected to be operational in H2 2026.
Boviet Solar is a subsidiary of Vietnam's PV Group. In Q4 2024, it announced a global strategic expansion, revealing plans to establish two new production sites in Southeast Asia and Europe, each with an annual capacity of 5GW. These sites are expected to commence operations in 2026, with locations in either Vietnam or Thailand, and Spain or Poland. By 2025, Boviet Solar's global annual capacity had reached 10GW, and this expansion plan will increase its global annual capacity to 15GW.
