The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru: Peru's copper production in February was 216,955 mt, nearly flat YoY.

On Wednesday, April 16, data released by Peru's Ministry of Energy and Mines showed that the country's copper production in February this year was 216,955 mt, up 0.01% YoY.

Peru is currently the world's third-largest copper producer.

The data showed that the country's copper production in 2024 was 2.74 million mt, slightly lower than the 2023 level.

Julia Torreblanca, head of Peru's National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy (SNMPE), stated last week that the country's copper production is expected to grow by 2-4% this year, reaching 2.79-2.85 million mt.
