Aluminum Ingot Inventory Declines in Key Regions, Destocking Trend Expected to Continue

According to SMM statistics, the aluminum ingot inventory in Guangdong on April 11 was 245,800 mt; in Wuxi, it was 249,300 mt; and in Gongyi, it was 110,300 mt. The total inventory in these three regions was 605,400 mt, a decrease of 11,100 mt compared to the previous trading day. SMM expects that, entering mid-April, despite a slight inventory buildup after the Qingming Festival, domestic aluminum ingot inventory will likely continue the destocking trend, potentially pulling back to around 700,000-750,000 mt by mid-April. As for whether the destocking trend can continue in the second half of April, on the one hand, the supply side needs to closely monitor the movements of the import window and whether domestic inventory performance will be affected by imported sources. On the other hand, attention should be paid to the traditional peak season of "Golden March and Silver April" coming to an end, and whether the outflows from warehouses of domestic aluminum ingots can maintain a relatively strong momentum.
