According to the Ministry of Commerce website, the 2025 National Export Control Work Conference was held in Beijing on April 9-10. The conference was guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implemented the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, implemented the deployment of the National Commerce Work Conference, summarized the export control work since 2024, and studied and deployed key tasks for 2025. Comrade Li Chenggang, a leader of the Ministry of Commerce, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
The meeting pointed out that the CPC Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to export control work, and the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee made important arrangements for improving the export control system. Given the current complex and severe international situation, the Ministry of Commerce thoroughly implemented the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, worked with relevant departments and local governments to accelerate the improvement of the modern national export control system, continuously enhanced the effectiveness of export control, balanced development and security, and ensured high-quality development with high-level security.
The meeting required the comprehensive implementation of the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, further improving the modern national export control system by refining laws and regulations, strengthening item control, enhancing licensing and enforcement, promoting multilateral and bilateral export control dialogues, and advancing compliance construction, to better safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and make positive contributions to building a modern socialist country and advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Responsible officials from the commerce departments of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, as well as responsible officials from relevant departments and units, attended the meeting.
