Gansu Launches 40,000 mt Scrap Lithium Battery Recycling Project

Gansu Chenyue Yuchen New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. invested 600 million yuan in the comprehensive utilisation and zero-carbon resource recycling industrial park project for 40,000 mt of scrap lithium batteries annually, which officially commenced in the Tumen Industrial Park, Gulang County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province. The project covers an area of 57,000 m² and is expected to be completed and put into operation by December 2025. The project integrates cascade utilization of lithium batteries, material recycling, and energy storage system integration. At full capacity, it will process 40,000 mt of end-of-life batteries annually, with an estimated annual output value of 1 billion yuan, generating 60 million yuan in tax revenue and providing over 300 job opportunities.
