The front-month contract of SHFE copper closed at 80,100 yuan/mt today, rising slightly by 40 yuan/mt. In Hubei, the market price of secondary copper rod was quoted at 79,500-79,600 yuan/mt, with a discount of 500-600 yuan/mt (average discount of 550 yuan/mt) against the front-month contract, and the discount continued to narrow. The market exhibited the characteristics of "price decline and tight supply." On one hand, suppliers held back cargoes, leading to tight raw material supply. On the other hand, the inventory of secondary copper rod enterprises was generally low, and the weak supply and demand situation may continue in the short term.
