SMM 21 Mar Update: The SMM secondary lead weekly operating rate in four provinces from March 15, 2025, to March 21, 2025, was 60.50%, an increase of 1.79 percentage points WoW. Last week, multiple regions in the north issued heavy pollution weather warnings, and individual areas conducted environmental protection inspections, leading to production cuts at secondary lead smelters and a decrease in the operating rate. This week, some enterprises in Anhui slightly cut production due to tight raw material inventory, resulting in a 0.66 percentage point decline in the operating rate. In Henan, smelters generally reduced production last week due to environmental protection-related controls affecting vehicle transportation and poor scrap battery arrivals; this week, some companies resumed normal operations, with the regional operating rate rising by 7.36 percentage points. Operating rates in Jiangsu and Inner Mongolia remained relatively stable.
