SHFE/LME Zinc Price Ratio Stabilizes, Import Window Remains Closed: This week, the SHFE/LME zinc price ratio continued to maintain a fluctuating trend around 8.1, with the import window for zinc ingot remaining closed. In the overseas market, LME zinc continuously declined due to the US March one-year inflation rate expectation being higher than the previous value and market expectations. Later, as US economic data fell short of expectations, LME copper led the gains among non-ferrous metals, pushing LME zinc upward, after which LME zinc maintained a fluctuating trend.

SMM March 21 News: This week, the SHFE/LME zinc price ratio continued to maintain a fluctuating trend around 8.1, with the zinc ingot import window closed. From the overseas market perspective, LME zinc kept declining due to the US March one-year inflation rate expectation preliminary value being higher than the previous value and market expectations; later, as US economic data fell short of expectations, LME copper led the gains among non-ferrous metals, and LME zinc rose, then maintained a fluctuating trend. Domestically, at the beginning of the week, social inventory increased, and processing fees continued to rise, coupled with higher sulphuric acid prices, smelter production enthusiasm increased, weakening the fundamental support for SHFE zinc, leading to a decline in SHFE zinc; later, there was a significant destocking of social inventory, and driven by the rise in copper, non-ferrous metals generally increased, SHFE zinc rose, and the SHFE/LME price ratio remained stable overall. It is expected that next week, the SHFE/LME zinc price ratio may continue to maintain a fluctuating trend.
