SMM Analysis: A Review of This Week's Cascade Utilization Prices This week, the prices of B-grade products in the cascade utilization market remained stable overall. Affected by the recent rise in nickel and cobalt prices, some battery manufacturers and traders had intentions to stand firm on quotes. However, cascade utilization enterprises showed low acceptance, resulting in a slight increase in the prices of A-grade waste battery cells for cascade utilization, while the overall prices of B-grade waste batteries for cascade utilization remained unchanged.

SMM March 13 News: This week, the prices of B-grade products in the cascade utilization market remained stable overall. Due to the recent rise in nickel and cobalt prices, some battery manufacturers and traders had intentions to stand firm on quotes, but the acceptance by cascade utilization enterprises was low. Ultimately, the prices of A-grade waste battery cells for cascade utilization slightly increased, while the overall prices of B-grade waste batteries for cascade utilization remained unchanged. On the supply side, battery cell manufacturers' production was relatively stable, and bus battery replacement projects in various regions were steadily progressing, ensuring a relatively sufficient supply of waste battery cells for cascade utilization. In terms of demand, the production of cascade utilization enterprises remained stable, and there were no significant changes in downstream demand directions. Overall, the supply and demand situation did not change much and still faced an oversupply. In the short term, influenced by raw material fluctuations, the upstream and downstream sectors of the cascade market still showed a clear wait-and-see and bargaining attitude, with prices expected to remain stable or experience a slight decrease. In the longer term, the safe utilization technology of waste batteries for cascade utilization remains the biggest challenge. If safety issues can be resolved, or if the overall downstream market expands, it may lead to a certain increase in the prices of waste battery cells for cascade utilization.
