Order to View Historical Spot Price Trends of SMM Cobalt and Lithium Products
Driven by the rise in Co3O4 prices, LCO prices continued to increase this week, but the rate of increase slowed compared to last week, with the latest prices for 4.2V/4.4V/4.5V LCO at 206,000/210,000/221,000 yuan/mt. Cobalt salt producers generally suspended quotations and held back cargoes, leading to a "price without market" situation. Domestic LCO companies faced difficulties in raw material procurement, with some suspending order taking or only fulfilling previous long-term contracts. Demand side, orders in the 3C sector (mobile phones, laptops) remained stable, with LCO purchases mainly driven by rigid demand. Currently, upstream cobalt ore traders and smelters are pushing up premiums by holding back supplies, while downstream battery manufacturers have strong bargaining power, putting dual pressure on LCO cathode material companies. There is still upside room for LCO prices, but the increase may narrow.
